Teaching Point: Writers learn that correct spelling is important for our readers. Go over strategies (visual memory, high frequency words, word length, using words we know, etc.) |
Teaching Point: Writers learn rules of the writing workshop - Always write with a pencil; you may talk to others about your writing; clean up when the bell rings; be ready to listen to the share. |
Teaching Point: Writers learn that authors are accountable for finishing books and what defines a finished book. |
Teaching Point: Writers begin to understand the purpose and structure of writing conferences and know what they are expected to bring to the table. |

Teaching Point: Writers learn that one job of the writer is to make sure the writing is as correct as possible - with capital letters and punctuation. |
